The models presented, treated in the work, cover aspects of mechanical engineering… Show more Numerical simulation or numerical modeling has over time become a powerful tool in several areas, in the engineering field could not be different. Simple analytical calculations and parts of machines and equipment, which are not very precise, started to give place to complex calculations and with superior accuracy through numerical simulations, resulting in greater reliability of calculations with productivity. The models presented, treated in the work, cover aspects of mechanical engineering and contemplate correlated and real subjects, such as: static loading, fatigue, thermal fatigue and thermodynamics. The complexity of interrelationships and their significance are presented through numerical models generated through statistical and specific software. The results of numerical simulations made possible the a deep understanding of an important mechanical element (clutch) in a wide and consistent way.       When managing the production my team and I could increase the stamping parts production from 16,5 millions to 23,5 millions per month, with minor investments. Technical tools supported totally the improvement and the team-work gave sustainbility to the model. Tools like VSM, Design for Lean Enterprise System (DFLES), Spaguetti Chart, Set-up studies, X-Matriz, Strategy Planning, were key to the performance improvement.At this position I had the opportunity to study Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma with Dr. Thomas L Jackson and apply this tool in the production increasing approximatelly 42% more production volume with minor investments. The tool "Learning to See" was another guideline to understand the production flow and its constraints. Show less

      The experience of teaching is amazing and pleasant. I've tried, towards the two disciplines, to bring the concepts of dynamics of movements by using integrals and derivatives applied to real life (application). In the machine engineering design standpoint, I showed in details the calculations of machine elements which are usually found in projects of equipments and machines. I've tried to describe different models and show to the students that the world behaves by itself and we (human being) create models to predict behaviors in the field that aim avoid failures.
