  As the head of Residence Life, I was responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and strategic planning for the department. I revised and developed departmental and housing policies to improve office processes, meet staff and campus needs, and enhance the student experience. I fostered a collaborative and dynamic department culture, while serving as a strong advocate for Residence Life with upper administration and strengthening relationships with campus partners. I also remained connected with International Student Services, supervising the office's new director. I developed policies, office systems, and programs that served to support international students, exchange students, and language scholars, assisting with their transition to life at Reed and in the US. The office's support services included orientation, immigration advising, academic support, cultural education, and career guidance for international "Reedies". I advised F-1 and J-1 visa students on immigration and acculturation issues and assisted with counseling students on study abroad opportunities. Show less

I recruited and advised prospective students, reviewed applications, and made admissions decisions. I also worked on student support, orientation, and advising for student groups.   I managed the department that serves as the primary connection between University end users of technology and the institution’s IT team. I provided critical direction for Rush's student information system, admissions CRM tool, and business intelligence software. Our office maintained the integrity of the SIS and integrated products via oversight of testing, process documentation, and upgrades. I helped guide strategic decision-making in the selection of software to meet institutional needs. I worked closely with University leadership to leverage technology in a continuous effort to improve business processes, meet compliance requirements, and better serve students, faculty, and staff. I managed all of the department’s functional areas, including orientation, housing, student activities, student organizations, and career support. Significant accomplishments included reorganizing the housing application and assignment process, transitioning the student events process from disparate paper-based forms to a centralized web-based system, and leading key components of the institution's commencement event.   As a Student Information System (SIS) Consultant, I worked with the AHEA team to develop higher education applications, specifically an SIS that leverages existing open-source software. I performed system functionality assessments and gap analyses to inform AHEA’s software development strategy. I also led the creation of business process maps, personas, and user stories for the SIS, and was involved in testing for other products in AHEA’s pipeline.
