Took PPV measurements during 3D Seismic Data Acquisition over Zhetibay field•PPV measurements calculated and interpreted to guarantee safe distances from explosive/vibroseis points to a field surface and subsurface facilities and infrastructure••Safe distances to industrial buildings, wells, oil/gas/water pipelines, electrical and telecommunication lines, public road, railway, etc.•Prepared PPV report to Client with recommendations on safe distances

3D Seismic interpretations of Triassic and Jurassic Limestone/Clastics of Tengiz field have been done using Petrel application. Results will be used to help with formation top prediction in future, refine overburden stratigraphic framework and to incorporate the results as input for new Mechanical Earth Modeling project.•Generated the synthetic seismograms from well logs associated with Jurassic Limestone, Jurassic Clastics and Triassic•3D seismic interpretation of needed horizons••Created seismic tie lines for a consistent and systematic approach to interpretation of Jurassic Limestone/Clastics and Triassic••Horizons have been interpreted with 8x8 grid size by combining auto - guided - manual picking options•Surfaces have been built and tied to available well data (formation tops) where applicable•Potential drilling hazards have been identified••Paleo river channels in the Jurassic interval Show less

-The Estimation of Elastic Properties in Shale-Gas Formations Using Well-Log Data• Investigated and demonstrated the well-log based estimation of elastic properties can be advantageous compared to conventional ones based on cores•• Introduced different empirical rock physics equations and effective medium theories to estimate elastic properties• Described application of different methods to the wells in Haynesville Shale formation ○ Studied reliabilities of methods by comparing the results against core measurements•Observed Issues / Uncertainties••Significant effect of volumetric concentrations of minerals, porosity, fluid saturation, and total organic carbon (TOC)on elastic properties of shale-gas formation.••Insufficient conventional well-log interpretation methods due rock properties varying rapidly in shale-gas formations.••Neglecting shale anisotropy can fail to describe geomechanical behavior correctly•Presented results before the Unconventional Shale Gas Resources Group Show less

-Updated all well logs by applying conventional formation evaluation techniques in Geolog Paradigm application, and made veryimportant observations for the company in Loss Circulation, and Porosity logs•Reviewed Well Log Qview file and formation evaluation process••Current Well Log Qview file outdated and did not include recent EPC wells results•Observed Issues / Uncertainties••Inconsistent loss circulation data in daily report vs. EOWR••CHCD LWD porosity spikes caused by washouts/fractures leading to incorrect reservoir properties calculations Show less
