Research on “Flow through intermediate turbine duct”. The increase in demand for more efficient engines has enabled to increase the engine bypass ratio. Therefore, the LP stage must have a larger diameter and in order to have a smooth flow without separation from the high-pressure stage to low-pressure turbine stage, the aerodynamics of intermediate turbine duct must be carefully examined. The main aim of this project is to investigate the influence of purge flow on the intermediate turbine duct of a Gas turbine engine. This is achieved by conducting experiments for the real aircraft engine’s operating conditions with appropriate instrumentation. Also conducted research on "Catalytic combustion of Hydrogen fuel”With an aim to reduce emission from aircraft engine a catalytically stabilized combustionchamber concept was developed. Here the parametric study of different sets ofcatalysts was performed to find the right catalysts with least emissions using hydrogen gas as fuel. Show less
