  Notable Work:Migrated the majority of Contact's data centre to AWS. This has included:- Migration of SAP, WebSphere, SQL Server, Oracle DB and many other applications and technologies. - Helped form the business cases, which was mainly based around cost savings of more than 50% of the previous hosting costs.- Architecture and configuration of network connectivity for a Direct Connect back to Contact Energy NZ, using AWS Direct Connect.- Security architecture incl. firewalls and proxies, to allow secure connections from AWS to the internet.- Architecture of the Account and Infrastructure to allow logical separation of environments (dev, test, prod etc.) and workloads. In turn this separation will allow easier separation of support, management, controls, regulatory compliance (e.g. PCI DSS) etc.- Post the SAP migration, optimization of cost within AWS including right sizing, instance reservation (commit for a period of time to receive a discount) and removing unnecessary resources.- Architecture of changes to Contact’s inbound web traffic patterns which will result in greater reliability and scalability, which is also PCI DSS compliant.- Substantial move towards “infrastructure as code” through using a CI-CD process for pragmatic automation.Improving the security and trustworthiness of Contact’s emails through implementation of DKIM, SPF and DMARC. Initiated, wrote and taught an internal ICT series of seven AWS courses. Show less My position was primarily Solution Architecture based, working across all parts of Contact Energy’s business, including retail, generation, finance etc.Notable Work:• Migration to AWS, and Content Management System upgrade of Contact Energy’s website (contact.co.nz). This has included:o Architecture of the infrastructure, networking and security.o Being the SQL Server DBA.o Troubleshooting and identification of an intermittent issue post go live.• Implementation of a Continuous Integration – Continuous Delivery system (incl. AWS Code Commit and AWS Code Deploy) for Contact Energy’s website and API Gateway.• Contact’s first extension of its data centre into AWS, deploying a new finance application.• Architecture of Contact Energy’s first electricity and natural gas customer Mobile Application.• Standards documents including Public DNS Standards, Infrastructure Naming Standards etc.Note that from September 2012 to September 2014, I was primarily involved in the Retail Transformation program, details relating to this are below. Show less This was a large Retail Transformation project with a full SDLC implementation of a suite of SAP and SAP related softwareI was involved in many aspects of retail transformation, including:- Business analysis incl. requirements gathering for electricity, natural gas and reticulated LPG.- Involved in design of SAP ECC utilities billing engines configuration and enhancements.- Being Contact’s Billing Confidence Testing Lead which involved several cycles of running batch processes in the test environments and comparing to the legacy production systems. I was primarily involved in designing and implementing the testing of the results.- Assisting the training team.- Design of a temporary system that was integrated to SAP, which was used to correct legacy bills that were found to be wrong as after Retail Transformation go live. I was also heavily involved in training and supporting the temporary team which was assembled to perform this task for the first few months after go live. Show less
