      The Well Engineering Competency Programme (WEC) was developed to assist companies who employ graduate engineers in the field of well engineering and drilling. The programme covers fundamental knowledge that a drilling engineer would be expected to cover. The program consists of several modules (stuck pipe, drilling hydraulics, logisitics, etc.) and training courses including final exams in drill string design, casing design, and advanced well control.

      CCS project involvement: Greensand (DK), Camelot, Poseidon (UK)In CCS projects, drilling new CO2 injection wells and completing these wells to ensure full integrity over their life time and beyond is as important as to safe plug and abandonment of existing legacy. In addition, well monitoring techniques for CCS applications are of great relevance. Wellsite Drilling Engineer on semi-submersible rigs for deepwater exploration and full subsea development projects. Office work: Offset analysis, preparation of exploration drilling program, NPT & NCR analysis, well planning software evaluation, well control bridging documents, BOP configuration risk assessment, coverage as operations engineer. Finished the SPEAD trainiee program in 2019: 24-months graduate program which combined practical “on the job” training supplemented by selected technical training courses such as IWCF Level 4, drill string and casign design, etc. Experience gained on land rigs, jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs, and in the office with projects ranging from exploration and field development drilling to workover operations and plug and abandonment.
