  Testing of software Drivers of a range of Multi-Functional Devices in the Xerox Catalogue. We were known as Language Services, and all Globalization of Software Drivers, based on the English version sent to us by our Head Offices in the United States are Built, Compiled and Translated, in this department. They were then sent to different clients across the Globe, after they have been thoroughly tested by me, and the rest of the engineering team. These are very sophisticated software packages that are used for the remote administration of these devices. Typical functions would include Network Faxing and Scanning, Photocopying, e-mailing, Printing, stapling, compiling etc. After development and editing of these drivers, tests where done on all different platforms of the Microsoft Family. Operating systems are (Continued)ghosted through Novell Netware servers and driver tests where done on IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, and other protocols. The software are installed and configured on machines physically connected by the engineering team, for testing purposes. The fourth SANAE base was erected on a Nunatak called Vesleskarvet some 160 km inland from the Eastern Antarctic Bukta, following a project to build the base on top of the surface on a rocky outcrop peeking through the ice, rather than underneath the snow, as was done with previous Antarctic bases.This station, also being the central hub for search and rescue in the Droning Maud Land, has a fairly large ski-way for fuel stops and refreshment pauses, taking quite a bit of air-traffic during the summer months in Antarctica.
