  I volunteered time at Angel Food Ministries at Grace of Temecula Valley AME. Print menu's each month and assist with Public Relations. On distribution day, 4:30am assisted with unloading truck, verifying quantity received and assisted host sites with putting their orders together. Transport orders for Sun City UMC to their location and help set up for their distribution of their orders and then go back to Grace of Temecula Valley and assist with their distribution between 8am - 10am. If any extra orders need to be distributed to shut-ins; assit with that on the way home. Show less

  The Advisory Council on Aging was created in 1974 and is a seventeen member volunteer leadership body mandated under both the Older Americans Act and the Older Californians Act.As Advocates for seniors and adults with disability, the Council identifies priority legislative and regulatory issues and recommends strategies for the future. The Council also considers population trends, unmet needs, and emerging issues affecting seniors and adults with disabilities to use in the development of the Strategic Plan on Aging. The Council focuses on outcomes for individuals and communities, and on performance measures for programs and services to gain a clearer understanding of how aging services and funds are affecting the lives of people and communities.Council Members hold an important role as the eyes, ears, and voice for seniors and adults with disability in their communities. With this voice they have the responsibility to raise issues, recommend changes and advocate for those changes. Without Council leadership, opportunities to improve services would be fewer and negative attitudes of ageism would be stronger. Effective volunteer leaders in partnership with community liaisons will continue to make a difference for seniors and adults with disabilities in Riverside County. Show less
