      Resident Assistant

Working as a Resident Assistant in the residence halls of Utah State University has been one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling jobs I have had. While I was responsible to administer many rules and programs for residence halls I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with my fellow students and building our community through activities and programs. Because I became good friends with the students on my floor I was occasionally faced with difficult situations, such as filing a police report on these same friends when required by my job. In the end strong respect was developed alongside the friendship. The management and people skills I developed at this time still serve me well today. Show less

    • Landmark Design

      May 2006 - Jul 2012
      Landscape Architect

Landmark Design was a fantastic place to work. I developed many great relationships here as well as numerous professional skills. I had the opportunity to work on a large variety and scale of exciting design and planning projects. I worked directly with clients, colleagues, and the public from site analysis and conceptual design to finished plans and construction documents. I was also able to work directly with contractors in the construction administration process. At Landmark Design I was involved with large scale regional planning projects such as the Cache Valley South Corridor Development Plan as well as many smaller site planning projects. Landscape jobs included many commercial sites, roadway projects, schools, residences, and various municipal projects. Landmark Design is a leader in the Inter-mountain region for sustainable landscape design. Special effort was made to create sustainable projects that utilized native and water-wise plants. My duties and tasks included conceptual design, planting design, irrigation design, coordination and meetings, construction administration, hand graphics, digital graphics, GIS mapping, public involvement, and LEED certification of projects. • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

      May 2010 - Nov 2012
      Customer Service (Part-time)

This part-time job was perfect for me and my family while the economy was slow and I was transitioning to Uintah County. My co-workers and managers here were amazing people. I am grateful to have worked with and learned from them. One of my most important duties in this position was to manage difficult situations in a professional and positive manner. I worked with many people through very tense and stressful moments, while remembering it was vital that every patron using our facilities had a positive experience and perception of my employer through their interactions with me. I enjoyed being able to work directly with people to help resolve their problems and concerns. Show less
