  I was working on a new project that involves the installation of a graphite depressant plant, along with a cell area at the mill department by Outotec. Working alongside my mentor, we were investigating the mechanical considerations during installation. I was also studying how all operations can be done in an optimized way, as it is a challenge to install the plant simultaneously with running plant. So, the installation of this plant is a challenge which is instrumental to my learning. In addition to this I was working on data analysis of breakdowns in different types of pumps located in the Rampura Agucha Mill area. In doing this, we were compiling the data of previous two years documenting all the breakdowns of the pumps and the reasons behind the breakdowns. For this, we were using the cause and effect diagrams, as well as Pareto charting for the analysis of the pumps that are liable to breakdown, and then we study better and more reliable alternatives for the current pump. I was also working as a mechanical engineer in 1MTPA, a zinc and lead beneficiation plant. My role entails looking after all mechanical maintenance in the plant, whether it be breakdowns or scheduled maintenance. I assessed labour allocation, and ensure that all the work is being done under the policy and procedures of the company, and whether it was being performed within the safety guidelines of the company. For safety procedures, the company has incorporated Du-Pont standards, and all work must meet with these standards. I also worked in planning department team of all the CPP's across HZL, where I was looking after automation of inventory so that most of the items can be ordered automatically without human intervention. In that I succeeded to install MRP based system using statistical tools and SAP. Show less
