My biggest contribution was minimizing the spread of the coxsackie viral infection (hand foot and mouth disease) by creating and implementing a lesson plan to educate students on basic hygiene.   Coconino County works closely with its community partners to conscientiously serve the community and efficiently deliver services. As the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner, I worked with partners and the emergency management department to rebuild 15 preparedness plans and annexes. I worked on multiple fronts to improve disease prevention and emergency planning. Below are a few examples:- Operated as a resource and provided technical guidance in the emergency operations center as the leader and subject matter expert for ESF 6 and ESF 8 during three state-declared emergencies.- Developed Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan based on HSEEP for the health district to assess capabilities.- Created a data collection tool and collected, analyzed, and interpreted data for a community needs assessment after the Tinder Fire. Residents affected by the fire received assistance based on their greatest needs determined by the report. - Contributed on a team of epidemiologists to develop the Coconino County Burden of Suicide report (2017). Cleaned and categorized ICD9 hospital discharge data. Ran statistical analysis with SAS and visualized demographic suicide data using descriptive statistics, measures of association, graphs, tables, charts, and frequency measures.- Performed 30 interviews for Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER). Used data to determine the state of the opioid crisis in La Paz County, Arizona.   Public Health Task Force Leader

  BCFS System is a global network of non-profit organizations operating health and human services programs throughout the U.S., Eastern Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.BCFS partnered with Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement to provide an emergency response influx shelter for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the United States. The long-term emergency response cares for minors while they wait for due process to enter the United States. The Public Health Task Force assists the Operations Section with isolation and quarantine measures, reportable diseases, infection control and mitigation, and medical data auditing.Some of the responsibilities I continually implement are: - Lead a task force of eight epidemiologists and seven EMTs utilizing ICS and NIMs frameworks for emergency response. The task force functions as the ESF 8 (public health) branch under the Operations Section of the Incident Command Structure.- Coordinated effective public health response. UCs are isolated or quarantined on arrival and cleared to fly out by the public health division before leaving the shelter for reunification.
