      Sept 2009 - now
      Life Member

Since leaving the Police Service I have continued to work on a voluntary basis for the Police Firearms Officers Association. My involvement extends to supporting officers and their families with issues that can affect their work environment, but also visiting Firearms Units around the country ensuring that our members are getting the support they need and also to encourage more officers to join. I do this by education through attending training days and also family days where we meet with the families of officers where we are able to answer difficult questions relating to the work of Police Firearms Officers. The Police Firearms Officers Association is a registered charity (1139247) and is fully supported by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) some of whom are members, and the Police Federation of England and Wales. We have members in every Force in the country and have been called on to help officers deal with the effects of some very high profile events in recent years. Show less
