  Member of the High Performance Manufacturing Group: Laser Material Processing Group

  The High Performance Manufacturing Group is a part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Basque Country University (UPV/EHU). It is currently made up by 18 people: 4 PhD Senior Lectures and PhD, bachelor and MSc students. Research and academic work focuses on the field of manufacturing processes: high speed machining, electrical discharge machining, laser techniques, grinding processes, CAD/CAM and computer assisted techniques.• Formulated a relation based on experimental research, bulk density and machine dimensions in order to economise laser cladding process and manage to conduct process improvements.• Analysed viability of a Hastelloy X filler material addition over an Inconel 718 substrate as an alternative for aeronautical and automotive new markets.• Collaborated in the PhD of Laser Metal Deposition enhancement by holistic simulation of powder mass flow and deposition into the melt pool of Dr. Arrizubieta published at 2017.
