      Jul 2015 - now

Currently working a dual role as the Associate Director - Research at Te Puna Haumaru (New Zealand Institute for Security and Crime Science) and as a Research Projects Developer for Research & Enterprise. At Te Puna Haumaru I have been working with researchers to identify research topics and to provide insights, connections, and collaborations, which are leading to funding of projects and ongoing collaborations with new partners. I manage existing relationships and have hard conversations when they are required to ensure that both parties can prosper and grow. At Research & Enterprise I look after two schools (Engineering and Computer Science) as well as providing support to two institutes and other parts of the university as required. I have a firm foundation of knowledge of the research activities across these schools and support the various activities and events. I provide connections and guidance for researchers on various aspects of research but in particular when engaging with MBIE or with Government agencies such as NZDF. Show less During my time at the University of Waikato I have worked on two major Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment research programmes worth $27.4m combined.
