Nominated to organize and serve a diverse group of students with common interests in human behavior and mental processes! My leadership team and I actively planned and organized events, coordinated with professors for research opportunities and speaking engagements, raised awareness for mental health issues and donated to several charities.

Environmental Psychology: how the (built) environment impacts the humans operating within. My main project in this lab was assessing how biophillia--nature elements incorporated into a building/community--impacted the nurses job performance, well being, and general health while working in a long-term mental health care facility. This lab required a self-starter attitude and independent work with frequent reporting back to the head researcher--Lindsay McCunn, PhD., along with quarterly lab meetings to share our progress and hear about other team members projects. Show less This lab assessed the relationship between Terror Management Theory and attitudes towards global warming. This lab was a team effort that required respectfully dealing with many different people in semi-stressful situations--as the manipulation and survey were done in person for the sake of control/integrity. Mandates for this lab were: a firm grasp on psychological theory and ethical research practices, data entry, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of Excel and the statistical software SPSS.Faculty researcher: Corey Cook, PhD. Feb 2017 - Jun 2017
Global Affairs Fellow/ Study Abroad Peer Advisor

An exciting and fulfilling opportunity where I was able to gain experience in a variety of tasks ranging from marketing, leading development workshops, engaging in general office duties, and communicating with students, faculty and community members to raise awareness for the department and the benefits associated with study abroad. I worked in the OGA during a time of transition, so, I was also able to interview many candidates for new and changing positions and collaborate on those decisions with upper management. Show less

      Feb 2019 - Nov 2019
      HR Advisor

Reason for leaving: Department Layoffs/Reorganization.In this position I assisted candidates in the hiring process, specifically in regards to verifying their employment eligibility. This included monitoring background checks through the program HireRight, assisting candidates in credential verification using the program Evercheck (as well as occasional manual locations for our compliance team), and assisting candidates over the phone and via email regarding issues and questions with various aspects of the process. In this position I developed strategies for effective HR communications, data entry, problem solving and the importance of thorough candidate vetting in the healthcare field. While working as a part of this excellent team I was able to use my self-starter characteristics to consistently clear candidates to start quickly while maintaining the high standards set forth by Providence Health and Services.
