  Assistant Director of EHS for the Power Division of URS providing safety and environmental support and oversight for projects in the Power Division including new construction, scrubber retrofit of fossil fuel plants, and maintenance and upgrades at nuclear power plants. As the corporate representative participated in writing several winning proposals and assisted with project setup including finding opportunities to design safety into the job at all stages. The Power Division received the 2011 Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award from the Construction Users Roundtable. Assisted in the preparation and maintenance of the site’s VPP Star application. Supervised field technicians, oversaw a $200,000 department budget. Implemented several initiatives, including Hand Safety Program, Winter Safety Program, Ergonomics Task Team, Accident Investigation Team, and Interstate Zero (an employee education campaign). Successfully mentored the USPD Center of Rochester for their VPP star certification. Authored numerous safety documents, including the West Valley Demonstration Project Health and Safety Plan, the Lead Management Plan and the IH&S Monitoring Procedures Manual. Participated as Project Lead for the U.S. DOE Committee on Risk Assessment, which evaluates risks associated with chemical hazards at DOE facilities nationwide. Show less
