      Jan 2008 - Jan 2011
      Mechanical Engineering Intern

Managed AutoCAD drafting for water loop, refrigeration schematics as well as product flow diagrams. Worked on pipeline and water loop schematics. Oversaw heat load calculations for cold rooms, including transmission, infiltration, equipment, personnel, and product loads. Analyzed, derived equations, and troubleshot water injection system for carrot baggers. Calculated ammonia and Freon volumes for all facilities. Provided design calculations for rotary green bean sort line.Recommendation -September 3, 2010From:Samuel Grijalva Project Manager Grimmway FarmsTo:Jeff ChristianRE: Summer 2010 Internship ReviewMr. Jeff Christian is a fine young man who is well poised, mannered, professional, and self driven. He was able to adapt to changes thru his project, effectively manage his time, had timely and effective communication, and learned to work with others, all while successfully completing his assigned tasks. For the summer of 2010, Mr. Christian was to document the Malaga Facility Building D & F water systems. This included developing a spreadsheet which identified the twenty (20) different water systems, calculating volumes, calculating & measuring flows, and identifying all pipes. I am confident Mr. Christensen has learned how dynamic Grimmway is and will remain to be as we strive to reduce operational costs. In summary, Jeff Christian's performance was excellent and his accomplishments speak to the success ensiled upon him in both his upbringing and his education. He completed his project assigned tasks ahead of schedule and then started to assist Grimmway's ammonia refrigeration engineering group. I enjoyed working with Jeff over the summer, and as he leaves for his final year of college, I want to wish him all the success he clearly deserves. Lastly, based on Mr. Christian's overall performance, I would like to take this opportunity to invite him back to Grimmway. To a Job Well Done, Samuel Grijalva Show less
