    • Tantor Media

      Dec 2010 - Aug 2014
      Audio Proofreader and Editor

Proofed and edited audiobooks for grammatical and sound errors to insure the cleanest possible product. Did light sound editing and also conducted research for pronunciation issues for the narrators of the audiobooks. I also provided feedback on narrator performances and assisted my supervisor in training new employees. Other duties included vetting incoming titles for mature themes for use within the company, and assisting the graphics department with the creation of the book cover for projects. I cited details from the text in regards to main characters' appearances and general tone of the story to help create an accurate and compelling cover that draws the eye. Later in my tenure, I organized and edited audiobook reviews submitted by members of the proofreading department which I would then send to the marketing department to be published under the "Staff Picks" section in the company enewsletter. I was inspired to start this collaborative project as a result of my involvement as a freelance reviewer for AudioFile Magazine; the premiere publication of the audiobook industry. Show less
