      The course will provide a professional update on topics related to fish welfare and fish health.The content focuses on fish welfare related to legislation, what is good welfare for the fish and how welfare can be assessed and measured in the different steps of the production process, in disease treatment and in the development of new technology. The course also provides a review of laws and regulations and requirements related to animal health and farming, including the use of experimental… Show more The course will provide a professional update on topics related to fish welfare and fish health.The content focuses on fish welfare related to legislation, what is good welfare for the fish and how welfare can be assessed and measured in the different steps of the production process, in disease treatment and in the development of new technology. The course also provides a review of laws and regulations and requirements related to animal health and farming, including the use of experimental fish. Monitoring and control arrangements from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, as well as principles for internal control, are reviewed in relation to prevention and control.The course also includes a review of the most important infectious (lice, viral infections, bacterial infections) and non-infectious loss factors, as well as problems surrounding gyrodactylus, knowledge of the correct nutrition for healthy/sick fish and environmental toxins in the finished product.
