  Coordinated and liased with volunteers for a year-long project aimed at providing free teaching sessions to Syrian, Palestinian & Burmese refugee children residing in the Chow Kit area of KL. Lessons were conducted by student volunteers and aimed to gear them towards their O-Level examinations. Represented Malaysia as a delegate for a medical symposium organised between students in Malaysia & Philippines where we discussed the impact & healthcare related burden of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare systems in our respective countries.

  Co-founded & led a non-profit organisation in Malaysia that promotes youth participation in volunteerism & social activism for disadvantaged communities in the country. So far, our aid reach has exceeded over 3000 Malaysians in need and spanned across semenanjung and sabah with over 9 projects in the few years of our organisation’s formation. We have worked with the national bank (BNM Malaysia), as well as CIMB Foundation and MIDF raising approximately RM200,000 in the 4 years of our formation to carry out projects for those in need whilst also raising awareness via social media on the communities we are helping.Our goal through SKRLWN is to bridge the gap between organisations and volunteers whilst maintaining a human value to the work that we do. www.skrlwn.com Show less

  Hosted a seminar during my tenure as VP of IMUSS teaching surgical anatomy of the thyroid gland which was attended by local and international undergraduate medical students as well as members of the MSSS community.My session focused on clinical examination of the thyroid, surface anatomical landmarks, differing surgical methods related to thyroid pathology, surgical incisions as well as nerve related studies in prevention of laryngeal nerve palsy in complete and partial thyroidectomy.

  Clinical Subinternship

  Trained under the pupillage of Dr. Andrew Fagelman, a renowned internal medicine physician in NYC. During the internship, i was tasked with taking structured patient histories, conducting physical exams, and writing case notes for systemic review. My work hours ranged from 9am-7pm daily and focused on hands-on clinical training for IMGs who wish to assimilate to the US Healthcare system.
