Bank of America bought out MBNA Credit Card in 2006, which is where I began my career in 1993. Jan 1994 - Jan 1995

Alcon provides a broad array healthcare solutions with over 135K employees worldwide and $12M of net income. I was the lead QA analyst creating and executing test scripts for an FDA validated bar-coded shipping system. I worked in a distribution center for 6 months scanning bar codes and processing orders. The testing resulted in resolving many errors prior to going live, thus reducing any shipping downtime.

    • TRW

      Jan 1995 - Jan 1996
      Project Manager / Business Analyst

TRW is a leading publicly-held credit services firm with over 60K employees. I was hired to assist with expanding a new product line to include sale of State DMV registration data. After only a few months in the role, I was promoted to lead the team of 20 senior software engineers to consolidate state files. I partnered with business leads and engineers to create a common format file format and impressed senior management by delivering all files in the time frame requested.

Kamehameha Bishop Estate (KSBE) is a private K-12 school for Hawaiian children, servicing over 5,500 students per year. To assist, I maintained a client/server school administration application supporting over 120 teachers and administrators. I tested and implemented version upgrades, worked with the vendor to resolve software bugs, provided training, and on-call support. The benefit is many users were able to be self-supporting due to the custom queries and training I provided.

    • IMX Exchange Mortgage

      Jan 2000 - Jan 2000
      Project Manager

IMX Exchange is a bygone internet start-up whose goal was to match mortgage brokers and lenders to provide an online loan exchange. As part of the fast-paced environment, I assisted by leading a small team in delivering internal web-based projects. The work was dynamic and my ability to handle multiple projects contributed to the growth of the ever-growing product line.

    • Charles Schwab

      Jan 2000 - Oct 2016

Charles Schwab Company is a distinguished publicly-owned brokerage firm with over $2.2 billion client assets. I began working as a Program Director in response to a grass-roots effort in computing to use Agile as a software development methodology. My goal was to create a program that would enable up-start teams to enhance delivery of client-focused products through frequent inspect and adapt cycles.Over a seven year period, I shaped a program to meet the needs of both distinct teams and executive leadership. Given limited funding for external courses, I built internal virtual communities of practice to spread lessons learned and created a well-used SharePoint resource library for blogging and industry literature. I also designed a team-based Agile Maturity Model to report trends with adoption. This allowed me to provide empirical evidence of success and build a case for greater investment in training. To keep coaching costs at a minimum, I also created an internal Scrum Master Certification and Mentoring program whereby senior Scrum Masters collaborated with less experience staff. Through shadowing of Scrum ceremonies and 1:1 tutorship, strong alliances were made across teams and common sets of best practices put in place. After only 1 year, over 30 Scrum Masters were enrolled in the program. I also personally coached multiple Scrum teams and managed contractual relationships with education services firms.Over the past year, I assisted the Tools team installing the DevOps Atlassian tooling suite to support continuous delivery. I oversaw the installation of the server infrastructure and developed processes for on boarding early adopters to Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and HipChat. All told, I created a program that continues to improve product quality with over 250 teams using Scrum and Kanban. Show less I began at Charles Schwab in the height of the internet boom and played a key role in supporting large-scale infrastructure projects. The Schwab.com web tier was growing and they needed a seasoned Project Manager to oversee highly technical development efforts. Over multiple years, I led teams to create products such as a web-based cookies library, search engine, secure home page, web analytic software, and creation of web services to support a .NET conversion. The win is that my contribution aided in the shift toward self-directed investing on Schwab.com as it became a standard of transacting. As the company converted to .NET, I assumed a process redesign role with a focus on creating a 2-week software release process. I lead a team of managers to construct a well-documented system with quality check points. I also designed a Microsoft TFS workflow with supporting online training materials. After nearly 4 years, the process supports over 700 internal users and products continue to be deployed to clients every 2 weeks. Show less
