      In a partnership with the Cabinet Ranger District, I co-led a crew of seven for the summer doing work ranging from painting picnic tables and cleaning up campsites to brushing and digging new trails. Additionally, part of MCC's mission is character development. Therefore it was my responsibility to facilitate weekly CORE lessons and deliver bi-weekly evaluations for the individual crew members.

      For the second summer in a row, I worked with MCC where their mission is “Inspiring young people through hands-on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land, and engaged citizens who improve their communities." This time with the Rexford-Fortine Ranger district, I again co-led a crew working on various projects with the United States Forest Service. I helped facilitate character building lessons as well as ensured completion and quality of trail projects.

      In this position, I was a naturalist as well a sustainability intern. Through initial training, I became a Certified Interpretive Guide which was put to use leading a mile-long nature hike on top of Vail Mountain. I learned and implemented the 5E model of education, writing and teaching lesson plans on various topics surrounding Colorado Ecology to preschoolers. As for sustainability, I assisted with waste diversion efforts and education throughout the Vail Valley.

      As the coordinator within Energy Programs, I helped to oversee the hiring and management of a new position as well as program growth. I continued to manage the Colorado Affordable Residential Energy Program and grew our application rate by 50% within 6 months through community outreach efforts. As the associate, I helped to manage the Colorado Affordable Residential Energy (CARE) Program for Eagle County as well as assist with our Energy Smart residential and commercial programs, including outreach events, rebate processing and grant writing. I am largely responsible for administrative tasks to keep the programs running smoothly and acting as the liaison for the community to understand programming offering within energy efficiency.

      As the education & outreach coordinator, it is my job to keep our community informed on important water issues and create lasting connections with our watershed so folks are inspired to take action. I plan major community-wide events including the second-largest fundraiser within our organization, a water festival for more than 300 students, a summer-long community education series, professional credit workshops and more. I oversee the RiverWatch river sampling program which takes volunteers outdoors once per month to collect state-used data on local streams and perform titration analysis for a variety of constituents. I have gained experience in stakeholder group management and coalition building, through our Deep Creek Wild & Scenic River designation process and co-leading the water working group of the Climate Action Collaborative. Currently, I am working to launch the Clean & Flowing Rivers Initiative which comprises stormwater and water efficiency education and action programming.
