Jun 2012 - Jan 2015Software Engineer IIAt Cisco I was working on Nexus 1000v (N1kv) Virtual Switch being used for Server Virtualization and Cloud Networking in Data Centers. • Working on the N1kv component of the Cisco Mozart solution which is a complete cloud services orchestration platform - • The N1kv provides for each VM on a host to be connected with a routed link to the forwarder also running in each host. I am working on fixing the bugs and setting up the test bed for the complete Mozart solution for the development team.• Worked on improving the code quality and fixing bugs for the N1kv to work with the open source hypervisor KVM developed to run a virtualization environment on Ubuntu Servers. • Understanding the N1kv software architecture and its parts like the uVEM & VSM. • Code improvement and bug fixes included creating CLI commands to display certain helpful information to the clients, fixing commands that didn’t give proper output and fixing certain functionality of the N1kv.• Have a good understanding of the Data Center infrastructure including the hardware and the software and also about the various hypervisors like ESX (VMware), KVM (Ubuntu) & Hyper-V (Microsoft) and virtual machines & virtual switching.• Worked on a security feature for the N1kv for the ESX hypervisor by VMware. Handled the Scale testing for the feature with 64 Virtual Hosts using the VSphere client by VMware. Earlier was working on ASR9K Provide Edge Router.• Have a good understanding of how a router works especially the ASR9K architecture and its configuration along with all its line cards and RSPs.• Worked on improving the code and resolving bugs like cleaning up of console messages, resolving ltrace and SA warnings present in the code.
