      As a Lean Manufacturing Intern, I worked on various projects with the Lean Department and in the Cabin Furnishings Value Stream to enhance 6S throughout the factory floor and revamp lean processes.Highlights:• Designed, coded, and implemented an iPad application that helps managers track and report lean improvements. The application increases visibility between managers and production workers, reduces feedback time from weeks to seconds, and cuts costs by $30,000 annually. • Developed best practices and standard work to improve 6S scores in the Cabin Furnishings Value Stream by 150%.• Created Excel spreadsheets to help zone leaders document 6S improvements and simplify scheduling. The spreadsheets include advanced functions in Visual Basic and data mining capabilities.• Small group leader in kaizen event to implement 6S into the engineering database. The kaizen resulted in cutting virtual storage space by 20% and groundbreaking techniques for administrators to manage and track file storage. Show less

      In the Fall of 2014, I joined the Heath Tecna division of Zodiac Aerospace, which is the foremost supplier of passenger aircraft interiors and components worldwide. During my six month internship I took on many different projects, including information systems development and procurement strategy analysis. I had the opportunity to take leadership roles in many of these projects, which furthered my experience with stakeholder management and data-driven decision making. Highlights:• Contributed to on-time deliveries by developing an ad hoc MRP system that provided visibility on program statuses, part shortages and allocations, material plans, and customer orders. This report was a key tool for facilitating communication between program managers, buyers, customers, and executives and was used company-wide.• Helped drive procurement strategy by developing a “Purchasing Report”, which supplied vital information to buyers and managers and helped buyers interface with vendors.• Both of these reports were developed/programmed using advanced functions in Excel, Access, Visual Basic, SQL, and terminal commands and required extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, program life cycles, and procurement processes.• Created process flow map for our procurement department to help analyze and refine procurement processes.
