  My rolling secondment as Asbestos Manager sees me responsible for all aspects of asbestos management at the world renowned Durham University, with my role comprising:- ordering management surveys and management plans - ordering scheme specific refurbishment surveys in collaboration with project managers - collating and updating current information and undertaking gap analyses - advising and informing regular health and safety meetings - overseeing and auditing of all related contractors during survey/analytical and removal works- advising the direct labour teams and maintenance service managers The university has over 300 buildings with vastly different construction, characteristics and challenges - ranging from the University Castle which was built roughly a 1000 years ago, right through to modern accommodation and teaching facilities.
