  Bill is a Lecturer in the School of Computing (SoC) at the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University.Bill teaches CS 301 - Ethical, Social, and Global Issues in Computing, which covers the ethical guidance of ancient philosophers such as Socrates and Plato as well as the ideologies of Enlightenment philosophers such as Immanuel Kant, John Stuart Mill, and Jeremy Bentham. CS 301 coursework includes a detailed review of English grammar and APA formatting, research and citation of sources, an individual presentation, a case scenario ethical analysis group presentation, and a technical research paper. CS 301 provides our students with a strong basis to make ethical decisions in the many challenging matters with which they will be faced during their careers.Bill also teaches CS 120 - Programming & Hardware Fundamentals, which covers the C programming language, assembly programming languages, and Von Neumann computer architecture. Supervised laboratory work includes programming in C and assembly language, interfacing with computer hardware, and the design and simulation of circuits and microprocessors.Bill is also a Guest Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department on the topic of Intellectual Property Law.
