Conduct legal research and prepare Congressional testimony, comment letters, memoranda, and other documentation to educate policymakers. Collaborate with federal regulators throughout the interagency rulemaking process to craft regulations that minimize the economic impact of regulations on small businesses while still meeting the agency's statutory objective. Provide strategic guidance to federal regulators to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory statutes. Leadership and Management. Lead a team of attorneys and economists that collaborate on international projects and oversee implementation. Present to high-level foreign dignitaries, U.S. officials, and industry trade groups on federal regulatory best practices for small business, impacts of regulations on international trade, and administrative law issues. U.S. Delegate, GRP & SME chapters of the U.S.-Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade.Interagency and Multilateral Coordination. Serve on the U.S.-E.U. Technology and Trade Council (TTC) Small and Medium-sized business (SME) working group, an initiative focusing on coordinating a transatlantic approach to key global trade, economic, and technology issues. Developed and implemented a stakeholder outreach plan focused on promoting small business access to and use of digital technologies, resulting in a report used to develop recommendations and guidelines for U.S. and E.U. policymakers. Coordinates a U.S. government interagency team that includes the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), and the U.S. Departments of: State, Commerce, Agriculture and Homeland Security. Conducts outreach to a diverse group of U.S. small businesses on the potential economic effects of a free trade agreement and from these efforts, provide a report to Congress. Show less
