Responsibilities included:- Inputting information from below water inspections to be used in determining deterioration rates and necessary repairs. The purpose of this position is to provide incoming students with a connection between themselves and their professors as they make the transition to college. I specifically worked with engineering students to facilitate part of the class period. My responsibilities included announcing and defining assignments, grading assignments, attending Freshman Focus programs, assisting with the annual Alumni Mentoring Dinner, and following up with students who are struggling academically. My responsibilities in this position included tutoring both Business and Engineering students in Calculus I, as well as Engineering students in Mechanics. My job was specifically designed to assist female students, who lived on a Women in STEM floor of one of our residence halls, in their academics.

      Providing support on structural projects typically involving bridge and culvert design.Responsibilities include:- Drafting of existing and proposed plans using MicroStation and AutoCAD software.- Utilizing Mathcad software in the design of wingwalls and footings.- Estimating quantities and cost for bridge and culvert replacement or rehabilitation projects.- Performing hydraulic analyses for existing structures to determine whether the structure fails or passes NYSDOT hydraulic requirements. Additionally, determining a replacement structure size that will meet the necessary hydraulic standards. Software used in these analyses includes FHWA's HY-8 Culvert Hydraulic Analysis Program and USACOE's HEC-RAS. Furthermore, experience with running scour analyses using HEC-RAS.- Preparing initial project proposals and bid documents.- Assisting with DEC and ACOE permit applications.- Assisting with field work on numerous bridge and culvert projects.- Additional experience with Merlin-Dash and OpenBridge Designer, and introductory experience with STAAD.
