  Worked in the Surface Transport Division alongside an experience Project Manager who showed me the ropes. I managed an team of contractors that were hired to evaluate the Tottenham Gyratory Scheme, the findings and recommendations were presented to the Mayor of London. I was tasked with presenting the information in an easy to digest format, to allow the Mayor to make a decision. The Project Management Office within TFL gave me the grounding I needed to appreciate why governance and compliance are so important in a project. Show less

  Powertec is a small family run firm that provides software to the NHS.I was hired to create and manage a strategic project plan for the development of an on-line e-rostering solution. An appropriate governance structure was created based on Prince 2 methodologies. I created progress reports to highlight the strengths, weaknesses, risks and the overall delivery plan was adapted to minimise the negative impact on delivery. I lead a team of four developers, we used agile methodologies to chunk up their work. Each developer had different skills, we worked closely as a team with the IT director to ensure their individual development needs were met. All IT projects have their ups and downs, I was key in keeping the team motivated, on track and focused on the scope of the project. I worked closely with the software Implementer to create Delivery documentation to guide others through an NHS trust wide implementation of the solution. The Directors quickly saw I was more than just a Project Manager and involved me in other areas of the business: recruitment, marketing, sales, product development & training. Whilst working at Powertec I began to identify what makes a business successful and what compliance structure is needed to ensure others know what their role is and what impact they can make.   I worked alongside the Operations Director to understand what our clients do to identify how their business can be improved by the automation of business processes. I took creative ideas and transferred them into a functional specification that was used by our developers and designers to deliver the solution. I was directly accountable for the success of a project, as each project was individual scope creep and risk management were essential to ensure the project was delivered on time, to budget and met the clients requirements. I managed several bespoke projects at the same time, for a variety of clients: ITV, Airbus UK, Sulzer.Client Account management was an essential part of the role, to allow us to identity and develop sales opportunities. Once a small unknown company in Yorkshire, Frog now have a global learning platform watched by several ministries of education. As a dynamic individual that can easily adapt to any environment my role has evolved to fit the businesses needs.My Frog journey began as an Implementation Project Manager, leading bespoke implementation of learning platforms to a wide variety of customers; such as cluster purchases, overseas customers and schools requiring development work. For 3 years, I worked directly with schools to create their own delivery plan to meet their objectives. Working closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team to understand the impacts Frog's learning platform has in a school; identifying the value the solution can bring to stakeholders. The results were used to create a School Improvement Plan, enabling schools to measure their progress and identify areas where additional value can be added. Working closely with customers and understanding a firms need to deliver on time, to scale and within budget has allowed me to fine tune my business improvement and compliance skills. Today oragnisations can easily become trapped into a way of working because that's how its always been done, I can see through this. I'm great at reviewing why we do things, looking at where and how improvements can be made for better results.   I work in the Insurer division of SSP, it provides insurance software that helps insurers to stay competitive in the industry and meet the evolving needs of their customers.Over the past 8 years, I have been responsible for delivery of a variety of client projects, for example:- Direct multi car insurer hosted pricing solution for Liverpool Victoria. - Household and motor insurer hosted pricing solution for Zurich.- Post go live changes for Legal & General.- Migration solution for Direct Line GroupThese projects also included integration with other software houses and national brokers. I have also worked on internal strategic projects including expanding SSP global processes in South East Asia, review of IT standards in APAC, implementation of NetSuite and managed Small Change projects.
