      Manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive physical safety program. Responsible for compliance with accreditation standards and licensing regulations related to the program. Provide leadership for safety assessments; coordinate the activities of the Environment of Care Committee; educate staff on their roles and responsibilities relative to the environment of care; and promotes a safe, functional and supportive environment within the Hospital.• Chair responsible for planning, developing and implementing plans, policies and procedures relative to the environment of care (EOC).• Chair and leader of the Emergency Management Committee• Establishes program goals and objectives in consultation with administration, and performs program evaluations in accordance with standards and regulations.• Keeps informed regarding regulatory changes related to hospital safety and responsible for leading efforts to incorporate changes; conducts tracers and collaborates with staff to main compliance with TJC standards and applicable state and federal regulations.• Leads the annual proactive annual risk assessment; engages appropriate participants in the assessment; ensures completion of improvement activities related to identify risks.• Collaborates with workman's compensation representatives to conduct assessments to control the risk factors for present and future losses related to injury.• Designs and implements educational opportunities that develop staffs understanding of safety standards and their role and responsibility for the maintaining a high awareness for conditions that could threaten safety and responding before the situation causes harm.•Collaborates with Facilities and Infection Control to assess for risk during periods of construction and takes action to minimize risk.• Coordinates and conducts fire drills; reviews and evaluates results affecting safety / regulatory issues; ensures implementation and compliance with interim life safety measures Show less · Develops, leads, monitors, and revises safety and environmental compliance program, focusing on standards from The Joint Commission, OSHA, DEP and other safety related regulatory companies. · Actively participates in EOC Hazard Tours · Assists in the development and maintenance of the EOC program · Manages ID Badge System and Access Control System on a timely manner to ensure smooth on-boarding of new hires · Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances · Supports all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives · Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedure. · Prepares schedule for all Switchboard and Security staff including breaks. Plans, prioritizes and delegates work assignments appropriately to all switchboard staff. Monitors and ensures work is performed in conformance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. · Evaluates performance and initiates department personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and terminations in cooperation with Human Resources Department. · Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations, etc. · Trains and orients new employees and communicates changes in hospital and departmental policies and procedures. · Designs, implements and maintains systems and procedures to promote efficient, effective support service operations. · Serves as a Role Model and Resource person for functional competencies and expertise · Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have security staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel. · Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. · Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto Hospital property. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel. · Maintains current information in lost and found logs. · Serves as a member of the BRT team and responds to codes appropriately. · Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances and reports all incidents to supervisor. Supports all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives · Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedure. · Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital. · Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements. · Other duties may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the department. · Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have security staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted.
