  MPCL gave me a lot of knowledge in 6 weeks about rigs. In first three weeks, I studied about the basic five systems of rigs that are :(1) Power system(2) Rotary system(3) Hoisting system(4) Circulation system(5) Well control systemThen in 4th to 6th weeks, I moved toward the detail study of some components that includes:(1) Shale shakerA solid control equipment that separates large solid cuttings from drilling fluid.(2) Drawworks brakesHydraulic disc services brakes and emergency brakes are the most critical components in drawworks. I studied about their working, possibility of failure in brakes and addition of new technology of auxiliary brakes.(3) Blow Out PreventorFinally I studied about the BOP system that is crucial component in controlling the kick.
