  Responsible for setting up the Regional Office of the multi-billion Multinational financial institution's UBA Insurance in the Southern Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria as well as developing the Business Plan for the take off of all five Strategic Business Units under the group in all nine (9) states of the South South and South East Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria.In the wake of the banking consolidation in 2005, I took responsibility for the effective take over of the old United Bank for Africa Insurance offices and staff and their effective systematic integration with the HEIRS Insurance Operation, as well as provided capacity-building training amf support for the Old UBA Insurance to seamlessly adapt to the Change Management processes that birthed the new UBA Insurance, to produce an efficient sales team that were situated in all Standard Trust Bank and Continental Trust Bank branches in the South Region, for cross-sell of all the financial institutions products under the banc assurance model operated.Key achievement is the development and sustainability of the most visible and most profitable Regional Directorate in the UBA Insurance Group until the time of divestment in 2006, as attested to by the Group Chairman of NICON Insurance, Jimoh Ibrahim Esq, who acquired the business and wanted desired my continued stay but for my higher call to National Service as a Diplomat (Technical) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the eagis of the TAC Volunteer Scheme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs og Nigeria.   Dr. Idowu is the pioneer MD/CEO of Investorp Medicare Limited (HMO 041), which transformed in name to Wellness Health Management Services Limited (HMO 041) after the acquisition of majority stake by new investors in 2015, while retaining his own minority stake till date, as one of the owners/promoters of Investcorp Medicare.Until his resignation in 2011 to start Mamre Plain Consultants Limited, Dr. Idowu served as the arrow head and visionary strategist to position the business, for increased visibility and growth within the first twenty four (24) months of operation, as a start up from ground zero, without any leverage, and achieved an average annual turn over of Two Hundred Million Nigeria Naira, with just private sector businesses, thus making it a pride of the industry that others benchmarked then.Dr. Idowu's notable achievements include generation of the five (5) years Business Plan, design of the structural and technical frameworks with documentations, for issuance of the operating licence by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in 2009, upon his rerurn from National Service as a Diplomat (Technical) to the Gambia, under the Ministry Federal of Foreign Affairs.As the MD/CEO he led the team that designed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals for clients (Enrollees)'s engagement and providers (hospitals)'s enlistment on the HMO's Provider Network for Quality Assurance purposes, and the design of bespoke actuarially-based health plans aligned with the strategic corporate objectives of the HMO on innovative, affordable and qualitative health plans that impacts our target market for increased visibility across the six (6)) geopolitical zones of Nigeria.   I was contracted as the Managing Consultant/CEO for an initial period of three (3) months to deploy measures/strategy to revive the company to a self - financing and profitable state within months from a huge bottom line deficit; develop work plan; renegotiate and reduce outstanding claims owed hospitals (prior to my engagement) by at the least 60% within the first six (6) weeks; realign the Business Strategy more towards Preventive Healthcare, through ethical leadership that promotes team work, for outstanding performance; reorganise and restructure functional units that support processes to deliver on Corporate Strategy; manage prompt implementation of claims settlement; increase the clientele by 30%, with a combined addition of > 4, 000 enrollee and/or > 1, 500 profitable Principals; and develop necessary groundwork/framework for growth and profitability, with detail report to the Group CEO.Upon landmark achievements recorded in the first ninety (90) days, the Contract was extended for another two terms of three months each till my request to voluntarily exit at the expiration of the third renewal, having accomplished all preset KPIs with a grant of the request by the Board of Directors to stay an extra month in seeing to a seamless handover of the company to a newly appointed Chief Operating Officer on full time employment.   Appointed as Executive Director on February 27, 2019 at the meeting of the Governing Council in Abuja to Chair the Training Faculty of the Institute in Lagos for effective coordination of the training and capacity development needs of Health Maintenance Organisations (HMO) and healthcare facilities (Hospitals) mandated by the regulator (NHIS) to address professional certification issues in the vourse of routine monitoring and evaluation of the operations of any one found wanting by NHIS, as well as attend to the training needs of individual Health Insurance practitioner desirous of skill enhancement. Until this appointment Idowu was the Principal Resource Officer and Vice Chairman of the Lagos Faculty of the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria since January 2015 and has tremendously impacted the industry in meeting training needs f Hospitals and HMO referred to the Institute by NHIS. Idowu has added value to the Institute in the areas of research and mentoring of new HMO business start ups, such that some of his proprietary work have become patented in the library of the Institute at the national office in Abuja for undergraduate and postgraduate research work in the field of health insurance. The Executive Director (South West) is also to mobilise and coordinate admission into membership faculty of the Institute by individuals and corporate entities, as mandated by the regulator, NHIS. It is worthy of that Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria (IHIMN) is the only professional body recognised by the regulator as having the capacity and resources to certify professional Health Insurance practitioners in Nigeria today, and it has the endorsement of the Federal Ministries of Health and Education, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Interswitch, and London School of Economics, the mention but a few.
