  Crisis Responder

  As a crisis responder, I was expected to take calls and texts from people facing suicidal ideations. Responders are most importantly responsible for offering emotional support and resources without judgment, and assessing the risk of suicide while supporting the person reaching out. As a crisis responder, I worked collaboratively with the help-seeker to create a safety plan, and in a small number of cases, involve emergency services.   As part of the supervision team, I am offering real-time coaching, feedback and emotional support/debriefing to responders. I also ensure adherence to program standards, policies, procedures and guidelines. I am responsible for assisting responders in determining when to intervene or report as required, both in discussion and in making the report. I often participate in quality assurance tasks such as reviewing reports, recorded interactions and transcripts as well as providing assessments, feedback, and recommendations. Show less

  As a 988 Supervisor at CAMH, I am dedicated to enhancing the quality of support provided to service users through effective supervision and real-time coaching of responders. I offer immediate coaching, feedback, and emotional support/debriefing to responders while ensuring adherence to program standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. I assist responders in determining appropriate intervention or reporting actions, facilitating discussions and guiding report submissions. I also participate in quality assurance tasks, including assessments, feedback, and recommendations as part of the responder evaluation process. Driven by my passion for mental health and helping those in need, I am dedicated to excellence in crisis response supervision, ensuring that our team provides compassionate and effective support to the community.
