  VolkerFitzpatrick recruited me from South Africa including relocation to the UK. My time at VolkerFitzpatrick was a good introduction to the number of Design and construct projects would work on for the rest of my career. As part of the introduction to D&C or D&B projects I started further part time studies at the University College of Estate management to bridge my South African degree to the UK BSc equivalent. I untimely obtained my RICS professional membership in 2016 in Australia.During my time at VolkerFitzpatrick I progressed form Project Quantity Surveyor to Senior Quantity Surveyor, after establishing my commercial knowledge in the business unit.I worked on the following projects at VolkerFitzpatrick, 1.   Senior Commercial Manager

  At Vinci UK I worked on several projects initially as Senior Quantity Surveyor then moved into a management role as Senior Commercial Manager. The highlights included the successful delivery of the Leicester Multi Story Car Park and responding to a substantial claim from the Mechanical and Electrical subcontractor on the Manchester Hotel.During my time at Vinci I quickly established myself as one on the stronger commercial managers. As a result, I was tasked with dealing with high value claims like the Manchester Hotel claim and others. In addition to this I was tasked to help with the role out of the new ERP on Vinci UK after the acquisition of other building companies including Taylor Woodrow Construction.My roles at Vinci included the following projects from Senior Quantity Surveyor to Senior Commercial Manager.1.   I joined Forge from the UK as a Senior Contracts Administrator and quickly moved to Commercial Manager for the South West Australia region. Focusing on projects in Margaret River, Bunbury and other surrounding areas. This business unit was successful in delivering the projects and profits prior to and during my first 3 years at Forge. My focus working in this business unit was to use my knowledge gained form the international experience to improve the commercial management of projects and the overall business unit. As such I helped to improv the commercial documentation, tools and commercial acumen of the staff. I implemented the required improvements within a short period of time as a result of hard work from my team and myself.In late 2013 the business changed it focus from resources and commercial projects to resources projects exclusively. I relocated to Perth to work on the remaining commercial projects and help with several resources projects that required help with contractual management improvement. By early 2014 the resources market declined, following the decline Forge went into admiration. I was employed by the Executive General Manager Commercial (Forge) and the administrators to work with a team of commercial managers to manage the closure of several projects that were in progress when Forge entered administration. My roles at Forge included the a number of projects from Senior Contracts Administrator to Commercial Manager, with my final role as the Group Commercial Manager – Claims Support. Show less

  I worked as a consultant Contracts Manager, to focus on improving my overall commercial & business skills. My clients included Georgiou Building and Engineering and a builder developer BSP holdings. My primary function was to provide commercial and contracts management services as well as project management.During this time, I helped Georgiou Building and Engineering manage the commercial claims and general commercial management of several projects. By focusing on managing the commercial entitlement, extension of time claims and complex variation claims.Due to my success in this role I took a permanent role at Georgiou building in the Building leadership team.The projects I worked on as a consultant included the following.1.
