I taught each course once: Fall 2002 and Spring 2003. Teaching the lab sections involved delivering short content presentations, leading lab activities, and grading lab reports.

    • Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering

      Aug 2010 - now

I lead two core functions for the Center for Teaching and Learning Design (CTLD): learning design and quality assurance. I support the Assistant Dean with administrative tasks including planning and coordination of new course developments and redevelopments, and all aspects of the course development process. I also lead quality control efforts and course reviews using the associated course quality benchmarks. I will supervise instructional design managers and course support specialists. I lead strategic initiatives with other Center directors and leadership by specifically providing vision and guidance for learning design and quality assurance areas of the CTLD. Show less I was responsible for coordinating the development of instructional materials that are functional, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles. I collaborated and consulted with faculty on the effective use of instructional design strategies, web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and instructional software and systems to improve teaching for online delivery. Additionally, I collaborated with the faculty members to ensure instructional integrity of the course development projects through a method of systematic design and clear course standards and objectives. I provided recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and online interactive activities. My role required me also to serve as project manager, leading teams with web developers and multimedia specialists for online course development and other special projects. I evaluated the instructional effectiveness of programs, courses, and training products as well as planned, developed, and taught faculty and staff workshops and other activities in areas of instructional design and the use of specific instructional technology tools.
