  Tara creates mindful art with love that expresses appreciation for nature, anatomy and physiology, bodywork, music, spirituality, and more. It is detailed, yet soft, mellow and charming. She is skilled in hand drawn illustration work, Adobe Illustrator. In addition to illustrations she also produces electronic music using Ableton. She has worked with these notable local businesses for illustration and design work: Portland Dry Goods, Maine & Loire and Scales Restaurant.   Tara Rook is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Maine and certified in Thai Massage Bodywork. Her style is defined as deep, rhythmic, and detailed by combining a mixture of Swedish, deep tissue, stretching, neuromuscular, Thai massage and myofascial. Tara’s study and practice of meditation and yoga help to inform her body work, allowing for a highly focused, intuitive and meditative experience. She is also a musician and visual artist and treats her body work as an art form. Her bodywork has been described as “playing a musical instrument”. She pays special attention to the needs of each client and is passionate about a person’s overall well being of the mind, body and spirit. She addresses both physical and energetic issues, working slowly to move the body towards balance, awareness, relaxation and deep releases. Tara studied traditional Thai Yoga Massage at the Sunshine Massage School in northern Thailand in 2019. She fully believes in the benefits of Thai Yoga Massage and is passionate to implement this form of bodywork to improve a persons’ overall well being.
