This position detailed as refilling merchandise on shelves and serving fresh food to customers. Spring 2006-October 2008: Worked as an employee in the Electronics department. In this position, I restocked new merchandise arriving each day as well as assisted customers with new cellular phone service. With the cellular phone position, I worked with customers and phone companies to get completion of phones set up and activated. I became knowledgeable of which phones and service was best in the surrounding areas for the customers to have the accurate service to fit their needs. Show less

      Oct 2008 - now
      Volunteer Coordinator

As Volunteer Coordinator, my job duties include reaching out to surrounding high schools and colleges/universities for student recruitment. This job includes work with professors at universities for students in a career field that is within the population of the hospital's mission of working with children with developmental disabilities. This position recruits student volunteers to serve at the hospital in various positions, which will lead to resume building for those volunteers. Recruitment is a combination of emails and calls to area schools and universities as well as career fair attendance for promotion. As a Volunteer Coordinator, I serve as a supervisor for all individuals who serve at the hospital. I also spend time working with college and church groups looking for volunteer service hours and create opportunities for them to visit. A position within the job is recruiting for the hospital's summer program, Camp ClapHans. Since 2013, I have recruited college students who have a major in a specialized field that aligns with the hospital's population. Time is spent scheduling meetings and presentations with college professors for each semester. The students who are recruited are hired in various roles and serve as counselors to the Camp ClapHans summer program. I oversee all student interviews, application and paperwork process, and scheduling for orientation for the program. Summer of 2020- with the pandemic of COVID-19 spreading across the country, I assisted in implementing new programs for the hospital. Program One: Daycamp for onsite staff: to ensure safety of staff, their children and patients served, we implemented a daycamp on site. This program gave a place for children birth to 12 years old a place to go while parents returned to work. Provided onsite school time so children could complete distant learning, educational learning, outside play, etc. Program Two: successfully supervised staff at a summer program for inpatients of hospital.
