Why can I find every little punctuation error in a document or every formatting issue? Give credit (or blame) to the folks at CRL. While serving as a Word Processing Specialist, they pounded into my head the idea of proofreading and reviewing every document so that it went back exactly right, no exceptions. They taught me more about WordPerfect and Microsoft Word than most people will ever want to know. I later moved to the finance department where I coordinated the time management system and learned the concept of billable hours. Overall, this was a great place to start my working career. There were so many smart people to learn from. I gained valuable insights into how difficult it is to bring a pharmaceutical to market and how important patent protection is. Show less

Although we serve as TPA for virtually all of our DB clients, this section is where I will focus on my defined contribution experience, which includes:Tax-efficient plan design and plan document assistance401(k), both safe harbor and ADP testedProfit sharing: cross-tested, age-weighted, integrated, and uniform allocationDB/DC combosMoney purchase and target benefit (any of these left out there?)Nonqualified deferred compensation plansCoverage and nondiscrimination testingAsset reconciliationForm 5500Participant loans Show less Okay, so "Special Projects" isn't actually a position, but it is something we do very well at ACG. In general, if it can be calculated, we'll take it on. Here are some of the things we have done over the years:Stochastic analyses (Monte Carlo simulations)QDRO calculations, division of pension assets upon divorce, court testimonyBack office support for CPAs researching pension questions"Second set of eyes" to review communications by other service providersExpected longevity of a scholarship endowmentSection 72(t) calculationsRelative value comparisons of alternative benefit forms available to executives Show less Actuarial work is what I went to college for and why I took all those exams. ACG has been serving the defined benefit plan world for more than three decades. Strengths include the following:Traditional defined benefit, cash balance, 412(e)(3)Supplemental Executive Retirement PlansTax-efficient plan design and assistance with plan documentsFunding valuations, including AFTAP, credit balance management, quarterly contributionsASC 715 (formerly FAS 87 and FAS 106)Exit strategies for frozen DB plansStochastic analysesPlan terminations Show less

I didn't actually change jobs. ACG was acquired by NFP in October 2023. Therefore, I currently have all the same roles and responsibilities now as I did when I was employed by ACG. These are detailed below.
