  This Way Ahead, a program of the Cambridge Housing Authority, is a job readiness and internship program for youth ages 16-24, in partnership with Gap Inc. As Program Coordinator, I managed a caseload of up to 70 youth and prepared students for successful employment with engaging workshop facilitation and individualized coaching. I tracked students’ progress and ensured they were meeting personal and programmatic goals. Each summer, I partnered with employers at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic to place This Way Ahead students in internships. Through l advocacy, job coaching, and relationship-building over 80% of youth were offered employment after their internships. As Learning Center Coordinator, I helped create a positive culture of learning and empowerment through educational workshops and mentorship. I built meaningful relationships with over 40 youth from 8th-12th grade and helped youth achieve their goals by being an advocate, connecting them with school resources, and providing direct support for their personal or academic challenges by empowering youth to identify and create actionable goals.
