      I was a part-time correspondent for the Mountain News in Lake Arrowhead, California for two years right out of high school. In this capacity I covered local sports, events, and other news-worthy stories. I was given assignments, but I also generated my own leads and stories. I also cut my teeth with photography and had many of my photos published.
