      In September 2010 the Wharf/Marine Development contract was awarded to a joint venture comprising of Pennecon Heavy Civil and McNally International. Pennecon McNally Joint Venture’s scope of work included demolition and reconstruction with some repairs to portions of the concrete superstructure, dredging to deepen the north berth, installation of steel pipe piles and concrete superstructure to widen the pier, and installation of riprap shoreline and scour protection systems.

      Completed construction of the South Side Access Road for the Muskrat Falls project. Commenced construction of a 1500 person accommodations complex for the Muskrat Falls project. In addition to construction of the modular complex, this project also included the supply and installation of electrical and mechanical site utilities such as site lighting, power distribution, water storage tank, pump house / chlorination building, a new waste water treatment plant, and all associated underground piping for domestic water, fire water supply and sanitary sewer.       Pennecon Heavy Civil Limited (PHCL) was awarded the contract to install a new 100MW combustion turbine generator at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station. Pennecon Heavy Civil's scope of work included: Earthworks, Excavation down to native till, Removal of USM, Site grading, Containment Berm for Fuel Tanks, Reinforced Concrete Foundations, Recon Block Retaining Wall, Installation of a new Fire Water and Storm Sewer Systems and tie in to existing system. PHCL's sister companies Penney Energy and M&M Engineering were awarded the contracts for all the site Electrical and mechanical work respectively. Show less

      I spent the duration of my work term at head office this term. I worked in the Engineering department bidding on tenders and working on a construction claim. For the past four months I have been involved doing takeoffs for various tenders, helping put together crews, estimating activity durations, obtaining quotes from suppliers, and preparing information for a construction claim.

      Pennecon Heavy Civil was awarded the rock supply, transportation and loading contract for the protection of the submarine HVDC cables for the Lower Churchill Project. The project requires construction of a marine terminal, access roads, and approximately 490,000 tonnes of rock. Pennecon produced the rock material from a new quarry located at Crow Head near Town of Forteau, Labrador, in 2014. The marine terminal construction was completed in the fall of 2015 with load out scheduled for the summer of 2016. Show less

      Pennecon was awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for a 116-person modular camp at Abitibi Canyon. Located North of Timmins and positioned next to two hydroelectric facilities. The construction of this camp will help facilitate the refurbishment work required at the hydroelectric dams. The camp consists of 4 single-story dorms connected by an artic corridor and a common area consisting of a kitchen, recreational area, and dining hall. This contract also included the design/construction of the associated camp utilities (water, septic, and electrical) as well as a fueling depot to support the ongoing construction activities.
