This involves lots of manual… Show more Founder of Regression AnalyserSpyGlass Physical has a unified infrastructure for regression of various components. The regression involves lots of processing of log files and doing comparison of generated reports in order to arrive at a Pass/Fail status.If a testcase fails, it takes time to debug the reason for failure as the user has to first find which step has failed, then he has to look into the log files and/or the reports to find out the cause. This involves lots of manual steps and hence the debugging time is high. I developed a Java based tool which has been automated to some extent the debug process. Once the database of the regression run is loaded in the tool, the user is provided with multi-frame GUI from where he can see the various files at 1-click. Also, he can see the comparison of GOLD files vs new files at 1-click. This would help in reducing the debugging time. Along with my release commitments, I took the initiative and found time to develop a tool that will help my team as well as all the other engineers in the company. The SpyGlass Physical regression infrastructure is used by almost all the team members in SpyGlass Physical team. This tool would help in reducing the time for debug of the regression results and improve the productivity of the team. Show less
