      My time as a Programmer served as a foundation for the technical management career I have since established. In this role, I was building e-commerce websites from scratch which required me to be an expert in both front-end technologies and back-end server code. I had a track record for producing impactful results and was oftentimes chosen to serve as the Lead Web Programmer for various high-profile clients such as the PGA. In this role, I was responsible for the programming and maintenance of trade show industry databases. I performed the importing, cleaning, transforming, validating and modeling of data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from data for decision making purposes per client specifications and business rules. This was one of my beginning roles in the industry. I provided field service in that I setup local area networks, trained application users, and supervised other Field Technicians.

      Java Developer

      This was a very hands on role during which I took on software and web development projects for a travel website. With this, I oversaw all stages of the design and development of java-based application systems. This entailed consulting with management, vendors, and third parties to ensure that the website and various components operated at peak efficiency. My key achievements in this role included: • Being named employee of the month 3 times in less than 2 years. • Improving the company’s SEO ranking by coordinating web service integration with Fodor’s Travel Guide.• Developing a booking platform from scratch with encrypted data and payment processing.• Creating a subsection of the website for a new sponsor, Hertz Rental, within 2 weeks.• Serving as an Architect and Developer of a fully integrated customer management system, which better tracked customer data for analysis.       CompuSystems is in the trade show business with attention to managing IT logistics for trade shows. In this role, I oversee 8 direct reports and 115 indirect reports with accountability for the delivery of successful IT projects. My role in this is to not only manage the technical creation and implementation process but also to manage the relationship with the client to ensure account success. With this in mind, much of my attention is spent managing projects, which includes delivery of 600+ websites and over 180 trade show registration programs annually. By engaging with a client-centric focus, I spur constant project improvements. A few of my operational achievements include: • Overseeing a $5.6M annual labor budget for the registration project manager, web development, business analyst, and quality assurance departments. • Saving $335K annually by restructuring employee outsourcing procedures. • Customizing and implementing project management software, bringing higher visibility to service requests and improving project delivery times by 7%. Some of my key projects and initiatives include: • Creating a Client Success Program which improved client retention through new onboarding protocols, management visibility, and satisfaction surveys. • Automating Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and developing project reports via established baselines by implementing new project management software. Show less Before being promoted to VP of Professional Services, I held a Senior Director position overseeing the Programming division. This included overseeing 54 Database Analysts, Web Programmers, and Supervisors within the website and database departments. My role in particular required me to maintain control over trade show registration processes, approving deliverables, maintaining timelines, and serving as the main point of contact with the client. While the main objective within this role was to drive successful projects to completion, there were also many operations, finance, and human resources functionalities I performed. I was charged with directing all hiring and training activities, implementing best practice standards, and analyzing productivity metrics to increase productivity. A few of my operational achievements included:• Saving $150K on reoccurring annual basis by reorganizing offshore labor. • Streamlining activity across 2 departments, saving the company approximately $50K. Some of my key projects and initiatives included: • Creating continuing education courses for Managers, which improved communication, leadership and decision-making. • Increasing output 30% and labor 5% through effective hiring and mentoring initiatives. Show less This was my first leadership role and I learned a great deal regarding best practices with regard to effective leadership practices, efficiently managing projects, accurately tracking financial data, and collaborating with C-level management. Due to having experience in the roles that I came to oversee, I had insight into the daily responsibilities of my employees and was able to better direct the activity of the web programming department. I took lessons learned during this period into my more recent management positions. A few of my operational achievements included:• Improving labor costs 9% by revamping department structure to provide better training and support to Programmers. • Creating standardized testing for applicants, resulting in better quality of new hires. • Designing templates for Web Programmers, thus decreasing product development time and increasing efficiency.Some of my key projects and initiatives included: • Developing coursework to teach programmers new technologies and code libraries. • Collaborating with Robert Half Technology to hire IT Consultants for special projects.
