Teaches QI methodology to community pharmacy and general practice clinics. The goal is to reduce preventable harm to patients. Involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, contract writing, proposal/board paper writing.Key Achievements• Delivered New Zealand's largest QI programme in primary care delivered to over 120 pharmacies, general practice, and urgent care clinics.• Revitalised and streamlined a failing programme which increased participant satisfaction, and efficient delivery of learning sessions and reduced workloads for team members.• Successfully implemented a process to enable paramedics to order laboratory tests. • Received ACC Patient Safety Award – New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards 2020.• Received Excellence in Community Health & Well-being Award – ADHB Health Excellence Awards 2019.• Represented pharmacy on the Metro-Auckland Clinical Governance Forum. Show less As the Auckland-Metro operational lead for pharmacy, provided end-to-end quality assurance and project management for the community pharmacy roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine. Responsibilities included conducting site visits, ensuring compliance with standards for a positive patient experience, overseeing cold-chain management, developing standard operating procedures, coordinating vaccine supply, providing clinical support, monitoring compliance and managing complaints.Key Achievements• Developed the community pharmacy standard operating procedure (SOP) for the COVID-19 vaccine, ensuring a safe and effective vaccination programme.• Successfully set up and established more than 170 community pharmacy vaccination sites, expanding access to the COVID-19 vaccine for the local population.• Maintained regular communication with directors and kept them up to date as the pharmacy lead on the COVID-19 vaccine service leadership team, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment of strategies.• Provided valuable clinical oversight to pharmacies as a representative on the vaccination clinical governance group, contributing to the continuous improvement of vaccination practices and patient safety.
