      Set up a youth club to help and support young people in the community. The club is for children aged 8 to 16 years. Organised and held a consultation meeting at a local secondary school which was attended by more than 30 young people who gave feedback on youth clubs options. Skills• Leadership – Directed club’s vision and committee, attract/recruit volunteers. Organised and delivered AGM meeting to the public, funders, and partners• Operational – Manage accounts, train staff on how to process accounts and book staff on training courses. Organise meetings, produce agendas, write and distribute meeting minutes and ensure staff/volunteers are DBS checked• Networking and Influencing – Build relationships and work in partnership with a number of local organisations/agencies. Managed to secure funding from three different organisations in the same year. Secured funding to run a summer holiday camp for children on free school meals. Built a partnership with a local IT company who then offered to set up the youth club’s website free of charge. Reached out to a local organisation who offered us a venue free of charge for a year• School outreach – Work in partnership with local schools to promote the club. Managed to find work experience for some of the young people who completed their GCSEs in 2021. Young people who attended the club are now giving back, supporting primary and secondary school students at the club with their maths and English homework including those studying SATs and GCSEs• Risk and Governance – Produce and update the club’s policies such as: Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Complaints, Risk Assessment, Data Protection, Equality & Diversity, Volunteer policy. Completed several training courses such as Safeguarding, First Aid, Business Planning, First Aid with Mental Health, Volunteer Manager workshop, 3-day Good Management course (modules included: Welcome Pack for Parents, Staff and Volunteer Handbook, Management Committee Guide) Show less
