The Flex Manager is an in-house manager that is present predominantly on the weekends and overnight shifts. With a flexible schedule, the Flex Manager is expected to be overseeing and supporting the roles of the weekend and overnight supervisors while developing relationships with weekend and overnight frontline staff (Health Unit Coordinators, Patient Transporters, Equipment Technicians, and Couriers) for better communcation, better employee engagement, and to promote more uniform expectations when transitioning from weekdays to weekends. The Flex Manager accomplishes these goals through regular one-on-one meetings, rounding, and coaching of frontline staff members that work non-traditional hours. The Flex Manager is also expected to be well versed in conflict resolution. Additional projects may be assigned to the Flex Manager for development, management, education, and implementation, as well as the expectation to fill-in and complete supervisory duties based on the needs of the department. Show less Rovers are highly skilled individuals within the department who can aid the shift supervisor in managing hospital functions. These individuals are trained in all four lines of services (Health Unit Coordinator, Patient Transporter, Equipment Technician, and Courier) and have capability to serve the department based on the discretion of the supervisor. Rovers often assist other Health Unit Coordinators and Patient Transporters during their shift through positive interactions and rounding. They are knowledgable about their role and the roles of other departments within the hospital, giving them a multi-disciplinary perspective and collaborative problem solving skills. Show less
