  Implemented and led social action campaigns, many of which were tri-media (radio, television and online) and went across both news and daytime programmes. Produced radio packages and montages, did live two-ways on location or in the studio; arranged outside broadcasts and events; and secured guests. I also made a half-hour radio documentary for the BBC's nationwide religious circuit. I worked with TV staff on my campaigns and wrote related copy for the BBC website and magazine.   Freelance Radio Producer

  Travelled across war-torn, disaster hit Sri Lanka gathering material for packages, interviews and news clips for the first anniversary of the tsunami. Wrote a monthly blog for the BBC on life in Sri Lanka. Key achievements:• Proposed an audio-gathering project to one of the world’s largest humanitarian agencies, World Vision, which had never done radio interviews in a post-disaster situation.• Audio was broadcast on the web, BBC Radio 4 and German radio stations.

  Retrained from being a radio producer to a coach. The skills needed are very similar: being a good listener, knowing which questions to ask to get to the crux of the matter, and using interviewing and media training skills to enable clients to excel in job interviews. During my career break, I relocated from Sri Lanka to New York and started a family, I didn't have a work permit for some of this time. Courses in Product Design and Software Engineering. 90%+ of students are women from BAME backgrounds. I developed and maximised all career support, making it innovative and accessible 24/7. The company faced financial difficulties and so made all of it's staff redundant.Key Achievements: In Q1 of 2023, 66% had landed roles post bootcamp. Due to the way, students position themselves in their CV, LinkedIn, and design portfolios, they land roles with salaries offered between £5000-10,000 higher than other candidates with same experience.Before I joined the average student salary post-completion was £32,000 - today, that number sits at £37,500 . Build and develop industry links with top companies and recruiters, including FAANG, finance, e-commerce, startup, agency, and tech for good, 20+ over the past sixth months to arrange lunch&learn sessions. Development of an online career course covering all job search best practices enabling students to land roles. Provide daily 1-1 coaching and group webinars for a community of 600+ students and alum on job search best practices, and review design portfolios. Record social media reels on career top tips for those wanting to land roles in tech.
