  After I finished my O'Level in 2017, I started my first part-time job at Robinson's Jem. As it was my first part-time job, it took me awhile to get used to the environment and also learn how to do cashiering duties, but with the help of my co-workers and my determination in learning, I was able to pick up cashiering skills quickly. Through this part-time job, I learned to be more confident when speaking to customers, I also learned to be patient when attending to customers needs.   During my first year in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I had my first field practicum with Bright Juniors, where I assisted my host teacher with her class of Kindergarten 1 children, once a week for 10 weeks. During the 10 weeks, I was tasked to observe and use different observation tools to analyse a child's holistic development. By the end of the practicum, I gained a bit more confidence in interacting with children and also learn how to communicate and observe them.

  During 2019 August semester break, I started working at Garden By The Bay and further extended my contract till March 2020. During the 8 months of working at Garden By the Bay, I tend to customers needs, replenish stock items as well as handled cashiering duties. Through this work experience, I managed to work on my communication skills while attending and helping customers, I also learnt how to manage my time when I work on weekends when school resumed.

  During my second year in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I had my second Field Practicum with MY World, I was attached to a class of Nursery One children for one month. I was tasked to plan and implement 3 different lessons for the class, Art, Music & movement and Mathematics. I also assisted teachers in daily routines like shower and meal preparation. By the end of the field practicum, I have better learnt how to communicate and interact with children, tips and ways to conduct efficient and engaging lesson for the children.   In my Ngee Ann Polytechnic Final Year, 6 months internship, I had joined one of NTUC First Campus, My First Skool's preschool at Woodlands 1. I was attached to a class of Nursery (4 years old) and had to conduct lessons on a daily basis, worked on Teaching resources, Take-home kit and Field Trip planning etc. I also assist teachers with daily routine cares and some admin work.It was a meaningful and fulfilling internship as I gained more experiences and skills as an early educator, working on my teaching, classroom management skills etc. I also had countless opportunities to experience working on projects and duties that I would most likely experience as an educator in the future.
