      In my current role, I've taken on key responsibilities ensuring seamless operations and enhancing our IT infrastructure.I manage the VEEAM backup system, guaranteeing its smooth functioning and quick recovery capabilities. Overseeing the deployment of Ricoh printers, I collaborated with external contractors to ensure their operational readiness post-breaks for end-users.During a significant disruption in August 2023, I orchestrated the recovery process, overcoming challenges when our infrastructure and PDC encountered operational hurdles. This involved meticulous recovery from the last successful backup and transitioning to newer, more efficient servers. With guidance from external consultants, we restored services and set up additional servers for DNS and authentication.In November 2023, overseeing the migration to new operating systems for our campuses, I orchestrated the acquisition of new servers, minimizing disruptions for end-users by executing this crucial task during off-hours.Additionally, I played a key role in deploying a new SCCM environment, facilitating smoother device setup and configuration for end-users.I took charge of our college's Cyber Essentials certification, managing compliance by rectifying non-compliances and segregating non-compliant devices from the main network in collaboration with our networking team.Furthermore, I've been expanding my expertise using Vsphere, utilizing it for server creation and deploying necessary software efficiently via SCCM and Intune.In this role, I've ensured operational continuity through robust backup systems, infrastructure upgrades, compliance management, and active contributions to deploying new systems, ultimately enhancing the user experience.During my role as infrastructure engineer, I gained my VCTA certificate, this certificate enhanced my knowledge and understanding of VMware and how it impacts our infrastructure and how we can improve on it. I've learned and implemented System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and actively contributed to hardware deployments, including during the transition to Windows 10 and the setup of a CSCS testing center. Collaboration with external contractors and ensuring project timelines are met have been crucial aspects. Handling the aftermath of a cyber attack in 2020, I led device re-imaging and maintained constant user communication. My oversight of offline backups aligns with VEEAM's 3-2-1 model, ensuring robust data security.
