      I primarily served as Hazardous Materials Manager for the South Mountain Freeway transportation project (then subcontracted to AZTEC Engineering). During this period, activities included conduct, management and oversight of teams that performed Phase I & Phase II ESAs, and asbestos, lead & regulated building materials surveys, working with the JV in all hazmat aspects associated with construction of the freeway, and oversight & management of discovered hazmat in the field during construction. Wrote the project management plans for asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous materials management and emergency response, and the SPCC plan, and conducted SPCC inspections and oversaw maintenance and repair activities.Also technical lead on multiple State Superfund (WQARF) sites across Arizona associated with chlorinated solvent and metals plumes in groundwater and soil, often conducting field activities and other times acting as mentor to staff-level personnel. Other activities included management and conduct of due diligence-related activities and hazardous materials assessments associated with roadway improvement projects for ADOT. Show less

      Manager of AZTEC Hazardous Materials Group. Primary management responsibilities include project management, business development, & mentoring staff associated with hazmat-related activities. Currently Hazardous Materials Manager for the I-10 Broadway Curve project.Formerly functioned as Hazardous Materials Manager from 2016-2020 for the South Mountain Freeway construction project. Primary tasks were associated with pre-construction preparation, and hazmat inspection/oversight through freeway completion. This $1.7 Billion Dollar project involved construction of a 22-mile freeway that required the acquisition of multiple parcels of land. Half of the parcels were developed with residential properties, commercial properties, gas stations & truck stops, and light/heavy industrial properties. Work included over 120 Phase I ESAs, 8 Phase II ESAs, 40 Demolition Building Surveys (asbestos-LBP-regulated building materials), 40 drywell investigations & closures, two UST removal investigations, two LUST site investigations & remedial actions (both opened and closed in less than one year), three Phase III remedial investigations (RIs) & site closures, 38 emergency response actions/spills, and many other related activities that were managed and conducted by me or other staff under my direction. Also was responsible for generation and update of project management plans for asbestos, lead-based paint, hazardous materials management & emergency response, and the SPCC plan. Duties included monthly SPCC inspections, and oversight of maintenance and repair of regulated equipment.Also responsible for management of hazardous materials-related activities associated with larger multi-phase transportation projects, municipalities, private clients, and creating synergies with other AZTEC groups where my expertise can be utilized. For the AZTEC Energy Group (solar/wind farm design & implementation), provide Phase I ESAs, SPCC plans, asbestos/LBP surveys, and Decommissioning Plans. Show less
